The Hollow Form: Concepts
Personally I struggled with this at first, given more free range of concept I was put at a bit of a creative stump.
but playing with concepts shown in class and the idea of how to have sharp edges without creating ledges I ended up creating these lil cube plants? trees? bushes? I'm not too sure but I like the little guy personally. These first two were created with basic lofting mechanics and 45 degree angle cubes
Getting a little more comfortable I tried to create some sort of vase using the curve and taper tools, first creating a basic 2D shape, extruding and tapering. This felt one felt more comfortable and natural,
The hollow form I landed on was a bit odd but something I thought would just be interesting to print and possibly help understand the printing process not being able to use supports, some of the process in making it is shown below,
